The IYDC 2026 Workshop is open to Level 1 to Level 3 and will be held over 3-5 August 2026 in Youth Square Hong Kong. All Solo competitors from Level 1 to 3 at the IYDC 2026 Live Competition will be automatically enrolled in the 2-3 days workshop. We encourage all competition participants in the Duo/Trio & Group items to enrol in this workshop as it promises to be a fun and enriching way to hone your dance skills and make new friends.

All workshop participants will work with our workshop faculty & adjudicators and perform in our Gala Finale Performance on 5 August 2026.

More about the Workshop 

A panel of adjudicators will be appointed by IYDC. The Marking Criteria will be based on the Competitor’s Dance Techniques as well as Artistry.

The various aspects of Dance Techniques include Posture, Control & Coordination of Movements, Aesthetic Lines, Use of Space and/or Formations and the Versatility of Movement Qualities.

Artistry will include Musicality and the Effectiveness of the Performance in relation to the Choreography.

Dances will be assessed and judged by the adjudicators. Competition will be held in sessions based on age categories and genres. Performance date and time for each session will be announced after the sign up deadline.

**ALL SCHOOLS & PARTICIPANTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN REPORTING TIME BACKSTAGE. PARTICIPANTS WILL BE DISQUALIFIED IF THEY MISS THEIR TURN.

**CHANGES IN MUSIC WILL NOT BE ALLOWED AFTER THE STIPULATED DEADLINE. ERROR IN MUSIC SUBMISSION / ORDER WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION. FOR PARTICIPANTS WITH MULTIPLE ENTRIES, PLEASE CHECK YOUR MUSIC SUBMISSIONS AGAINST THE SESSION RUNNING ORDER.

Payment should be paid online via credit card. Entry Fees and Surcharges are non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances other than event cancellation by the organiser.

Enrol online via www.iydc.co between 1st April 2026 to 1 June 2026. Entries after 1st June 2026 will be subjected to availability and late charges.

1. Fill up the online entry form (available from 1 April 2026).
2. Pay the entry fee(s) via credit card on website.
3. Keep a backup copy of the completed form and proof of payment.
4. Successful enrolments will be confirmed by email. A reference number will be provided for each enrolment.

Schools with larger number of entries may download or request for a soft copy of the batch entry form to be submitted directly to us via email. Email the batch entry form to registration@iydc.co .

Late Entries

1. Late entries after 1st June 2026 will be accepted if spaces are still available. A surcharge of SGD 50 will be applied for each late entry.
2. Any change of enrolment details can be made on or before 1st July 2026 with a surcharge of SGD 50 per request. Late requests made after the 1st July 2026 will not be accepted.

Name

The name printed on the Certificate will be based on the name provided in the entry form. A surcharge of SGD 50 will be payable if name is to be amended.

For Solo, Duo and Trio, competitors should enrol in their own names.

For Group, competitors should enrol in the name of an organisation / school, with each participant’s name clearly stated in the entry form. Each participant of a group is not allowed to represent more than one organisation / school.

 
Age

Competitors must enrol in the appropriate age group, with the age criteria as follows:

Solo:
Age based on competitor’s age by 1st January 2026.

Duo, Trio and Group Items:
If dancers are of different ages, the group will be competing in the age group according to the age of the oldest dancer by 1st January 2026.

Music, lyrics, costumes and choreography content must be age and event appropriate. Inappropriate items may be disqualified at the discretion of the adjudicator panel.

Identity Check

The organiser will check the identity document of each contestant during the registration process. The identity document must be an official document bearing the name, photo and date of birth of the contestant. Failure to prove the identity may lead to disqualification.

Use of Music:

Music choices will have to be age appropriate, avoiding vulgarities / degrading words.

Use of Props:

For props to be used, please seek clearance as every theatre space will have their own safety requirements and protocols.

1. IYDC owns the rights to publish and broadcast videos / photos taken during the competition event.
2. Recording of the live event is strictly prohibited.
3. Photography of the live event is strictly prohibited.
4. Photographs and videos of each entry can be purchased via IYDC’s website during the registration.
5. Please note the deadline for photo & video orders for each event. We are unable to process orders after the deadline.

1. Contestants are responsible for their own training and submission of entries.
2. The IYDC reserves the right to amend the Rules and Regulations.
3. The IYDC reserves the right to amend the schedule of the competition or cancel any category in case of insufficient entries.
4. All Solo Participants are enrolled for the 2-3 days workshop.
5. All non-solo participants are encouraged to enrol in the 2-3 days workshop.
6. Participants take part in this event at their own risks. IYDC will not be held responsible for any injuries / loss that may occur during the course of the event.
