** NOVICE SOLO – For first year soloists performing live on stage (mixed genres – participants can enter under any genres in this category and must not have more than one year stage experience)
** GOLDEN LEAGUE SOLO – For solo participants who have achieved a Gold Award for their solo entry in IYDC 2024, please enter under the GOLDEN LEAGUE CATEGORY for that solo genre that has achieved a Gold Award. The GOLDEN LEAGUE CATEGORY is an exclusive category for solo participants with Gold Award achieved in IYDC 2024.
CATEGORY EXAMPLES
Example A
If a participant received:
- Gold Award for Ballet, and
- Silver Award for Lyrical / Contemporary at IYDC 2025
➡ Ballet: Golden League Solo Category in 2026
➡ Lyrical / Contemporary: General Solo Category in 2026
Example B
If a participant is joining IYDC for the first time
➡ All genres: General Solo Category
Example C
If a participant is competing as a soloist for the first time or within their first year
➡ May choose Novice Solo Category
➡ May also enter General Solo Category
Example D
If a participant competed in IYDC 2024 but not in 2025
➡ Most recent IYDC results will be used to determine eligibility
